City of Stilts
Lying on the south banks of Lake Syrantula due south of the town of Biston stands the ruins of what may have been a small town in ages past. Subsumed by the delta of a swift flowing stream out of the Fenwall mountains the ruins are most known for the carved stone pillars that once may have supported structures built on the lake. Many of the “stilts” are carved into fantastic sea monsters such as sea serpents, fish headed men, or kraken. The ruins are protected from easy exploration by the thick vegetation growing from the rich delta soils. Known pests such as stirge, giant frogs & leeches, as well as ambulatory plants have been reported by airborn patrols of Sable Company marines out of Melfesh.
Rumors of great mineral wealth is thought to lie in the muddy bogs and quicksands of the delta. According to mad prospectors panning along the overgrown beaches, “show” of gold, silver, and mithral have been found. However the very real threat of monster attacks from the nearby mountains has disuaded any real efforts at further discovery.
